Bio:

With over a decade of experience, Carly Barton’s breadth of practice spans litigation, transmission line routing, condemnation, and eminent domain, helping landowners across Texas protect their property rights when faced with complex issues. Barton has represented people and organizations in courts ranging from Justice of the Peace to Federal Court, and she continues to bring her courtroom experience to all her legal work. Whether negotiating with condemning authorities or preparing a case for trial, she balances legal realities with her clients’ long-term goals to achieve the best possible outcome. Over the last seven years with Braun & Gresham, Barton has played an active role in the growth of the firm by training and mentoring attorneys and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence and collaboration. She is known for her clear communication, practical problem-solving, and steadfast advocacy for the landowners she serves. Carly earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Texas Tech University School of Law, where she served as Vice Chair of Judges on the Board of Barristers, competed on national trial advocacy teams, and participated in the Criminal Defense Clinic. She also studied at the University of Guanajuato Summer Law Institute. Before law school, she graduated with honors in Latin American Studies from The University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Orange Jackets and Phi Beta Kappa. Her professional background includes serving as an Assistant Federal Public Defender in the Northern District of Texas, as well as practicing with firms focused on litigation and criminal defense.
